In his whole life he played a crucial role in the amendment of several constitutional acts like Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949 and Maharashtra Right to Information Act.

His movement and struggles also led in the implementation of Right to Information Act 2005 and Prevention of Delay in Discharge of Official Duties Act 2006 of Maharashtra state.

With the collective efforts of his team a Jan Lokpal Bill, which serves for transparency in Indian government and official work to eradicate corruption, was introduced by the Government in Lok Sabha.

He has also helped in the transformation of Ralegaon Siddhi a small village in Maharashtra.

He received Padma Bhushan in 1992 and Padma Shri in 1990 for his social work.
