Rushdie attends Christopher Hitchens' memorial with ex wife Padma Lakshmi

London, Apr 22 (ANI): Salman Rushdie and Padma Lakshmi, who divorced five years ago, were seen leaving the memorial of Christopher Hitchens together in New York on Friday.

The 'Top Chef' host looked chic in a monochrome trouser suit and orange blouse as she headed into a waiting car outside Manhattan's Cooper Union School.

"Memorial for Christopher Hitchens today very sad, great to rehear his words from the people who loved him," the Daily Mail quoted her as tweeting.

Also in attendance was actors Sean Penn and Stephen Fry and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

The 90-minute memorial to the British author and essayist, who lost his battle with cancer last December aged 62, featured poems and tributes from some of his friends and colleagues from across the years.

Rushdie and Lakshmi split after three years of marriage and an eight-year relationship in July 2007. (ANI)
