The Information and Broadcasting ministry has publicised its concern for the ad-viewers by blocking the transmission and re-transmission of an advertisement of “Lux-Cozy Undergarment”. The advertisement is charged of being “indecent, vulgar and suggestive”.
The government actually issued a notification restraining the telecasting of the ad in response to the complaints from the concerned viewers who objected to the advertisement.
Acting strictly, the information and broadcasting ministry even warned the channels to be selective in choosing the advertisements in future.
It was stated plainly that the channels are supposed to follow the code of conduct prescribed under the Cable Television Network (regulation) Act, 1995 and rules framed in it so as not to invite further action.
The objectionable featuring of the barely clad male and female models along with a dog led the chivalrous advertisement outside the spheres of the codes of decency. Thus an advisory issued by the ministry last month directed all the entertainment and news channels to erase Frenchie X and Lux-Cozy underwear advertisements.
