RSS charges Congress of indulging in communal politics

New Delhi, Thu, 05 Jan 2012 ANI

New Delhi, Jan 5 (ANI): A photograph of the Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh published in a Hindi daily has proved that he was associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), said Ram Madhav on Thursday.

Ram Madhav said that the recent 'exposure' through the photograph is the reaffirmation of the age-old communal politics that Congress has been indulging in right from the beginning.

A Hindi daily published a picture of Digvijay Singh sitting with former RSS chief Rajju Bhaiya and international President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Ashok Singhal, during the 'Virat Hindu Sammelan' in 1997.

RSS leader Ram Madhav said the photograph proved the point that Congress Party has an age-old habit of changing platforms for the sake of electoral dividends.

"This recent exposure through the photograph is the reaffirmation of the age-old communal politics that Congress has been indulging in right from the beginning. They have no forms in going to a particular platform for the sake of electoral dividends and in the same breath they have no sense of shame in going and attacking them publicly again for the sake of some other group votes," he said.

"This is a kind of minority politics, communal politics that they have been indulging in right from the beginning. I don't see anything more that this in this so-called controversial photograph of Digvijay Singh. I don't believe that he had any faith in any particular ideology anytime. His only faith is in his communal vote bank politics," he added

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker Adityanath Yogi said that the photograph has exposed the real character of Congress party and its selfish motives.

"I feel that this has exposed the real character of Congress; they always keep counting others' faults but they themselves don't look at their mistakes. As per their selfishness, they turn in favour of Hindus and Muslims. This is the truth and we all should accept it," Yogi told the media in Gorakhpur.

Last year, Digvijay Singh demanded clarification from anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare regarding his links with RSS, after a Hindi daily published a photograph of Hazare with RSS leader Nanaji Deshmukh and claimed that the anti-corruption crusader had worked under the latter's leadership in 1983.
