New Delhi, Nov.26 (ANI): Congress spokesman Rashid Alvi on Saturday said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati had absolutely no clue about the problems of the state and also flayed her remarks on Rahul Gandhi.
"If the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh considers this only as a travel plan, then I can say that the way Rahul Gandhi is travelling in Uttar Pradesh, who visits numerous villages, interacts with people and spend a night at the places of poor people then similarly if the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati would have travelled in these last five years then may be the hard time she is facing at the moment would not have to see this day," said Alvi.
"She (Mayawati) does not have any clue at the moment that what are the problems that the people are facing today. If she would have travelled to the villages and would have met people then she could have realised the problems that the people are facing. Today the way government of Uttar Pradesh, their MLA'S (Members of Legislative Assembly), their ministers are robbing the Uttar Pradesh completely, all the people of Uttar Pradesh are angry with the Uttar Pradesh government and the chief minister should be aware of this and if she is not then during the upcoming elections she will get to know what is the condition of Uttar Pradesh and whether Rahul Gandhi is just travelling or is meeting people," added Alvi.
He also accused Mayawati of misleading people on the issue of retail bill.
"See if she (Mayawati) stops any scheme that is for the people then it is an unfortunate thing. There is a need to understand FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) properly, the money will flow from the foreign countries into India and this will benefit the nation. Government has introduced this FDI scheme for the benefit of farmers, common people and for employment generation. And the cabinet has passed this and I believe that the commoners of this nation will welcome it," said Alvi.
The central government on Thursday had approved foreign direct investment in the multi-brand retail sector and raised the cap on foreign investment in single-brand retailing to 100 percent from 51 percent.
The government's decision has paved the way for global supermarket giants to enter India that will help growth and control inflation. (ANI)
