US Congress report hails Modi's 'governance and impressive development in Gujarat'

New Delhi, Sep 14(ANI): An United States Congressional report has praised Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's effective governance for development in the state and said that the rest of the country could look at Gujarat as a role model.

"Perhaps India's best example of effective governance and impressive development is found in Gujarat, where controversial Chief Minister Narendra Modi has streamlined economic processes, removing red tape and curtailing corruption in ways that have made the state a key driver of national economic growth," the Congressional Research Service (CRS) has said in the report.

The report also highlights that Modi has overseen heavy investment in the state, which it says has been behind the annual growth of over 11 percent registered in the recent years.

Meanwhile, Modi has appreciated the report tweeting: "Another recognition for six crore Gujaratis. US report hails Guj's effective governance. Jay Jay Garvi Guj." (ANI)
