New Delhi, Aug 18 (ANI): Civil society activist Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said veteran social activist Anna Hazare will leave Tihar Jail only when the Ramlila ground is ready.
Talking to reporters outside Tihar, Kejriwal said: "The Ramlila ground is being prepared. Only when it is ready to go, will Anna come out of Tihar Jail. As things stand today, the MCD has to prepare the grounds since it is full of muck. The ground has to be made ready, because if the crowd reaches Ramlila grounds before we reach, it will be difficult to set up tents for them."
He further said a team of doctors would check on Hazare just before his release. These reportedly would consist of doctors from a government hospital and those from Naresh Trehan's Vedanta Medicity.
"Anna Hazare's health is fine. A medical team from GB Pant Hospital visited him on Wednesday evening. But he said that when jail doctors are taking care of him, he does not need another medical team?"
Earlier, former senior police officer and social activist Kiran Bedi had said Hazare willmerge out of Tihar Jail this afternoon and reach the Ram Lila Ground at around 3 p.m.
The fresh proposals came after marathon discussions between the Hazareeam and the police right through Wednesday.
Initially, the police were insisting on allowing only five days' of protest, which was turned down by the activists who asked for permission for one month.
Police had earlier denied permission to Hazare to hold his indefinite fast at Jai Prakash Narain Park near Ferozeshah Kotla Ground after the 73-year-old social activsit refused to give an undertaking that he would restrict his anti-corruption protest to three days and the number of protesters to 5,000.
