Burdwan (West Bengal), Apr 30 (ANI): Charging the ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M)-led Government of committing atrocities in West Bengal, Union Railway Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee urged the voters to elect her party for the betterment of the state.
Addressing a gathering in West Bengal's Burdwan city on Friday, Banerjee said: "There could be only one medicine against the atrocities committed by the CPI-M and that is the ouster of the government, not by bullets or bulldozer; just give me one vote and get rid of them. One vote is the medicine for the formation of a democratic government."
The Trinamool Congress activists later took out a rally in the city to garner support for their party.
West Bengal is presently undergoing polling for the 294-assembly seat in six phases.
The first and second phase of voting took place on April 18 and 23 respectively.
Around seventy seven per cent voting was recorded in the third phase of West Bengal assembly polls in 75 seats covering Kolkata, North and South 24 Parganas districts, which took place on April 27.
The fourth phase will take place on May 3, fifth phase on May 7 and sixth phase on May 10. (ANI)
