New Delhi, Nov.12 (ANI): Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovation, will inaugurate and address the Global Innovation and Technology Alliance (GITA) here on Wednesday.
GITA is a joint venture of the Department of Science and Technology and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The annual event will focus on the theme of "Shaping India's Global Partnerships in Science, Technology and Innovation".
T Ramasami, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology will deliver the keynote address.
Global technology leaders from nine countries-Canada, Finland, Israel, Japan, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the UK-will be participating in the two day conference. They will also have pre-scheduled B2B meetings with members of the Indian industry.
These leaders are looking for partnerships with Indian companies in the areas of renewable energy, water management, pharma and healthcare, green manufacturing, information communication technologies (ICT), bio-technology, homeland security, and agriculture and food processing.
There will be an exhibition display of innovative technologies from India and across the world.
Other keynote speakers are Dr.Devi Shetty (Padma Shri), Founder and Chairman, Narayana Hrudalaya Institute of Cardiac Sciences; Randeep Singh Surjewala, Minister of Commerce and Industry, S and T and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Haryana and Koji Omi, Former Finance Minister of Japan and Chairman - STS Forum
McKinsey would be making a presentation on "Disruptive technologies: Advances that will transform Life, Business and the Global Economy". (ANI)
