The second phase of polling for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2012 concludes with brick polling turn out amid few news of slight violence.
Equalling to the first phase of polling, over 60% of voting is recorded in the second phase, stated an official of election commission.
'The polling concluded at 5 p.m. with approximately 60% voting exercise,' official said by adding that the exact figure is yet to come.
The voting exercise concluded peacefully except few news of slight violence in the eastern part of the state.
The media reports say that police used force in few polling centres of Mau, Ballia and Azamgarh district in which six persons were reportedly injured while no news of death received from any poling station. The detail report is yet to come.
Minor complaints regarding Electronic Voting Machines were also came from Azamgarh district, official report says.
With concluding the second phase of UP assembly election 2012, the fate of Vidhan Sabha speaker Sukhdeo Rajbhar, Revenue Minister Phagu Chauhan, state presidents of BSP Swami Prasad Mourya and BJP Surya Prakash Sahi, deputy leader of SP Ambika Chaudhary, 31 MLAs and 24 former ministers along with 1038 candidates were sealed in the ballot box.
In last assembly election, BSP had won highest number of seats (29) followed by SP (20), BJP (6), Congress and Independents 2 each.
The UP assembly election is divided in 7 phases in which the third phase of election will be held on 15th February 2012.
