Kolkata, Mon, 07 May 2012 ANI

Kolkata, May 7(ANI): U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is meeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee here today and the two are likely to discuss Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail.

Clinton arrived in Kolkata from Bangladesh on Sunday.

She will arrive in New Delhi this afternoon and is scheduled to meet various Indian leaders including the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj and External Affairs Minister SM Krishna.

Civil nuclear cooperation, regional security and Iran are among the key issues that are expected to be discussed.

Clinton's trip coincides with the visit of an Iranian trade delegation, as India walks a tightrope between strengthening bilateral ties with the United States and meeting its fast-growing energy needs from countries like Iran. (ANI)
