New Delhi, Mar.21 (ANI): Defence Minister and serious Congress party leader A.K. Antony on Wednesday praised voters for helping the ruling United Democratic Front (UDF) to win elections in Kerala's Piravam assembly constituency.
Interacting with media here, Antony said: "The performance of the nine-month-old (UDF state) government convinced the voters to support and endorse the ruling coalition. All voters would like to see more development, and that is only possible if there is a majority government."
Recalling the contributions of deceased Congress leader T.M. Jacob in promoting development in the Piravam constituency when he was a minister in the state government, Antony said that now Jacob's son, Anup Jacob, was carrying his father's work and legacy forward.
"All independent voters have given their support to the UDF coalition government. All Congress workers worked hard to make sure that Kerala develops further, and improve the lot of the common man in the state. Everybody worked together. The LDF (opposition Left Democratic Front) has to learn and study this UDF win and take stock of its loss," Antony said. (ANI)
