Aligarh, Mar 9 (ANI): The father of Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Narendra Kumar Singh, who was mowed down by a tractor-trolley in Madhya Pradesh's Morenda District yesterday, on Friday said that his son had to pay for his honesty and alleged that the killing was a 'well-planned' conspiracy by the mining mafia of the region.
"We were not taken to the accident site. They just handed over the body to us. This is the result of his honesty. Mining mafias concluded this. They called it a truck accident at first," said Keshav Dev, father of the 2009-batch IPS officer.
Narendra Kumar Singh, who was posted at Banmore as Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), had taken on the mining mafia by seizing number of trucks and tractors engaged in illegal quarrying,
The incident took place yesterday afternoon when Singh, who was patrolling the area in his official jeep, noticed a tractor-trolley loaded with stones following which he overtook it and signalled the driver to stop it.
But the tractor driver drove on and knocked down the 30-year-old officer, who was crushed under the wheels. (ANI)
