Amritsar, Jan 30 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Navjot Singh Siddhu said he is positive that his party will reach victory target with huge margin in the ongoing assembly elections in Punjab.

Coming out of the polling booth in Amritsar city, Navjot Singh Siddhu said he used his franchise to contribute towards the formation of BJP government.

"This is a government by the people and for the people so, today we have come to cast our vote and build the future of India by casting vote. We have come to elect honest leaders in politics and have come to give in our contribution towards the formation of government of Badal," said Siddhu.

Siddhu added BJP alone would win more than 15 seats in the state.

"There was this belief that Akali Dal will retain their vote bank in Punjab. BJP will either make the government or break the government. But BJP's coalition power will be the reason of winning the polls. BJP will form the government in Punjab by winning more than 15 seats itself," added Siddhu.

Siddhu's son, Karan was also present at the polling booth to extend support to his parents.

According to media reports, 17,683,559 voters will decide the fate of candidates who are contesting for 117 assembly seats.

In Punjab, the main battle is expected between the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)- Bharatiya Janata Party alliance and the Congress Party. (ANI)
