Girija Vyas condemns shoe-hurling incident on Rahul Gandhi

Dehradun, Jan 24 (ANI): Congress leader Girija Vyas on Tuesday condemned the shoe attack on Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, stating that the latter is receiving enough love from the public and such insane people should be ignored.

"Insane people are found everywhere and it is useless to comment on them. Rahul ji is receiving enough love and affection from the public and we should congratulate him for his sensitiveness and patience as when we step in the field, we prepare ourselves for the worst and we are determined not to get swayed from our path and dedicate ourselves to the service of the public," she told reporters here.

Kuldeep Singh, 26, hurled a shoe towards Rahul Gandhi's dais as soon as he begun addressing his last poll rally at Vikasnagar in the outskirts of Dehradun on Monday.

The shoe-hurling incident on the Amethi MP came two days after a similar attack on Team Anna members in Uttarakhand. A slipper was hurled at Team Anna members during a public rally in Dehradun on Saturday. (ANI)
