Team Anna at full liberty to campaign in upcoming assembly polls: Digvijay Singh

Lucknow, Jan 18 (ANI): With Team Anna all set to launch the voters awareness campaign in Uttar Pradesh, Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh on Wednesday said Anna Hazare and his aides are at full liberty to campaign, but added that they should first raise their voices against all those involved in corrupt practices during the Mayawati regime in the last five years.

"They are at full liberty to campaign, but the main point is that they should first raise their voices against all those involved in corrupt practices during the Mayawati regime in the last five years," said Singh.

Digvijay Singh further accused Baba Ramdev, Anna Hazare and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of working at the best of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and 'Sangh'.

"I have been saying it from the very beginning that Baba Ramdev, Anna Hazare and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, they are all working at the best of BJP and Sangh. They cannot see the rampant corruption in the states ruled by the BJP, but only in the Congress," said Digvijay Singh.

"Anna Hazare has now given a certificate to Baba Ramdev that the latter is a gentleman and an honest person. The person upon whom the Enforcement Directorate has issued a notice of Rs. 70 crore and is being investigated by the CBI, he is honest," he added.

Team Anna, which is all set to campaigning in all poll-bound states against corruption and for a strong Lokpal Bill, has reportedly invited yoga guru Baba Ramdev to campaign along with it in the upcoming assembly polls in Uttarakhand.

Anna Hazare's associates, Kumar Vishwas and Manish Sisodia, earlier on Monday said that the team would actively participate in the campaign during the assembly polls in all the five states.

The Election Commission had declared that voting in five states, including the most populous Uttar Pradesh would be held between January 28 and March 03. (ANI)
