Pune, Jan 14 (ANI): Samrat Moze, a prospective candidate for civic body elections in Pune sported valuables worth millions to attract voters. He adorned himself with heavy gold chains, thick quintessential bracelets and fat rings.
Moze also known as the 'Golden' member of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is the second candidate to spoert exquisite gold jewellery worth millions, but denied that he was motivated by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena lawmaker Ramesh Wanjale.
"My interest in gold developed after I saw my forefathers wearing it and I do not imitate anyone," said Moze.
Moze has so far worked as a social activist, and this time, he is optimistic that the NCP would give him a ticket to contest the elections.
He added that venturing into the mainstream politics would enable him to carry out development work without hindrance.
"If the NCP gives me the ticket to contest elections then that would give me more power to do the work that I have been doing. If I come to power, then I will have the authority to get that work done. At the moment I do not have the authority," added Moze.
It is estimated that he wore wearing jewellery that weighed 8.5 kilograms and it cost approximately Rupees 30 million. (ANI)
