Smile Foundation celebrated a melodious evening, ‘Awaaz aur Andaaz’ with coveted maestros and musicians from Delhi, Mr. Zulfi Khan, Ms. Meeta Pandit and Mr. Madhav Prasad. The performance at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on April 6, 2009 gave the musical lovers an unforgettable classical experience with beautiful selection of Gazals and poetry. The evening was even more delightful for Smile Foundation as it commemorated the milestone of its association with more than 100 projects and partners in education, girl child and healthcare sector across India.
The function that was held at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre started at 8 pm. More than 300 music lovers gathered at the venue to listen to the scintillating classical Ghazals. The audience comprised of people from all walks of life from Delhi.
On the occasion a collection of nine Ghazals in an album was launched titled ‘Boond Hu Main’. It was flowed by the launch of a book, ‘Kabhi yu bhi hota hai’, a collection of inspiring poetry by Mr. Sameer Kakkar. The book truly reflects that poetry becomes a mirror for people and helps them move ahead in life. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sameer Kakkar, Poet said, “Poetry is an art and through this we wish to spread the message to masses and sensitise them for the benefit and cause of the children and women”.
Established in 2002, Smile Foundation has a network of more than 110 genuine grassroots organisations across 21 states of India. Smile Foundation rejoices the fact of handholding and building more than 100 grassroots organisations in a short span since its inception. The foundation aims at associating with more than 500 projects and partners in near future through its unique ‘Social Venture Philanthropy’ model that has the multiplier effect. The model thus aims at optimum utilization of resources and reaches out to exponentially large number of needy than it would have been possible through any other conventional infrastructure model.
Celebrating the musical delight the evening was praiseworthy and very well appreciated by the crowd.
