JetLite, Jet Airways’ all-economy subsidiary carrier, will add its extensive domestic network to Jet Airways’ global (domestic and international) route network, via code-share between the two carriers effective January 19.
With this launch, to be implemented in two phases, JetLite's extensive domestic network will be available for sale under the Jet Airways' code (9W) for tickets purchased in all international points across the globe.
The partnership will enable both carriers to boost online connectivity with a higher presence on global GDS screens, fully leveraging the power of global distribution networks. This process was initiated with the migration of JetLite to Jet Airways’ reservations platform in September 2008.
Overseas passengers traveling to India will enjoy lower fares, through check-in and baggage check-in facilities and frequent flyer benefits, in addition to seamless connectivity between both carriers, across India and several international destinations in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, making Jet Airways and JetLite the automatic first choice carriers for these passengers.
According to Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO, Jet Airways, "With the code-share agreement between Jet Airways and JetLite, passengers will enjoy unbeatable connectivity between India and several international destinations, besides lower fares and several other benefits, in addition to the higher revenues, enhanced online connectivity and resultant synergistic benefits that both carriers would consequently accrue."
