Mumbai, Nov 4 (ANI): The police have arrested three more suspects related to alegaon blast which claimed six lives, officials said on Monday.
Ajay Eknath Rahirkar, Jagdish Chintamani Mhatre and Rakesh Dattaram Dhawade were arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Sunday.
Earlier the ATS had arrested five people including god woman Pragya Singh and two retired army officials for their suspected involvement in the September 29 Malegaon blast in Maharashtra.
They were produced before a local court in Nasik on Monday.
"The three were produced in the Nasik court today and they have been granted police custody till November 10," Hemant Karkare, ATS chief, told reporters in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the Nasik court sent the main suspect Pragya and her two accomplices to judicial custody.
"After hearing both the sides the court has remanded them to judicial custody till November 17, 2008," said Ajay Misar, public prosecutor.
A large number of Shiv Sena activists staged a protest outside the court against the arrest of Pragya.
Pragya Singh's sister claimed her sister was being hounded. "We have full faith in Indian judiciary and one result has come to the fore today. She is a god woman, religious and has nothing to do with such things. She is very quiet and the way she is being falsely implicated in a planned manner is wrong," said Pratibha Jha, Pragya's sister.
Earlier, Pragya was subjected to polygraphic, brain mapping and narco analysis tests. (ANI)
