Jerusalem, Jan 7(ANI): Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf has backed the country to have sound ties with Israel.
Musharraf reportedly said that ties with Israel would be beneficial to Pakistan because both are ideological states and added that that acceptance of Israel could augment Indo-Pak ties.
He stressed that Pakistan should keep diplomatic relations with Israel on the same footing as other Islamic countries, The News reports.
He pointed out that Pakistanis are anti-Israel rather than anti-Jews due to the ongoing Palestine crisis.
Musharraf said that Pakistan would continue backing the Palestinian demand for an independent state. (ANI)
