London, Jan 5 (ANI): Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney took to twitter to share their terrible experience when Britain's killer storms lashed their private jet.
The Manchester United players braved the ferocious weather on their flight to last night's game against Newcastle.
"Just boarded the flight to Newcastle...me Carrick + Wayne Rooney are pooing our pants...90+mph winds... nervous wrecks!" the Daily Star quoted Rio as tweeting.
DJ Chris Moyles took the mickey out of the stars by replying: "Let us know when you land safely. Are you allowed a little drink on the plane!!"
"Really not jealous of having to fly tonight. It's one thing flying on a big 747 on holiday, but a little plane. No thank you," he added.
Rio replied: "we are allowed a OJ!! Hold tight, sweaty palms! Landed.... phew! Touched cloth while landing I think!"ast night a Manchester United spokeswoman played down the incident, saying: "It was perfectly safe."
Their exclusive flight was lucky to take off as "off-the-scale" winds grounded many flights around the UK on Tuesday.
The 106mph gusts claimed two lives.
Weathermen are now urging people to batten down the hatches once again as the high winds continue. (ANI)
