Washington, Jan 5 (ANI): Barack Obama was the top target for late-night humour in 2011 with 342 jokes made at his expense, a new study has revealed.
The second most-ridiculed politician for 2011 goes to Anthony Weiner, with 220 jokes, the Politico reported.
The study by the Center for Media and Public Affairs also found that "Republican presidential hopefuls accounted for five of the top ten joke targets of leading late-night TV talk show hosts in 2011."
Overall, the study found that Republicans were the targets of jokes almost three times as often as Democrats.
And it was Jay Leno who had the most fun at the president's expense, ribbing Obama more than twice as often as David Letterman.
The study tracked late-night jokes on "The Tonight Show," "The Late Show" and "Late Night" - all network programs - throughout 2011.
On the Republican side, Herman Cain led the pack with 191 jokes, followed by Rick Perry (186), Michele Bachmann (128), Newt Gingrich (110), Sarah Palin (109), Mitt Romney (79), Ron Paul (17) and Rick Santorum (16). (ANI)
