Kolkata, Dec 9 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that her government would take all possible steps to develop the Information and Technology (IT) sector in the state with an aim to increase employment opportunities and ensure that overall development takes place.
"We are going to setup our triple IT sector and we want to setup some different type of industrial hub, we have decided to setup the IT hub also in Durgapur, Holdia, Kulyani then Siliguri then other parts of the state also," Banerjee told the media here on Thursday.
She also said that the state has the intelligentsia, accountability and determination to generate greater business in the IT sector, as its biggest asset was its human capital.
"We believe that this sector depends on human capital ........and if I am not wrong with optimism I can say that Bengal is the human capital of the world ," said Banerjee.
She further said that the development of the information and technology sector would result in providing jobs to the people in the state and it would also facilitate their socio-economic growth. (ANI)
