A recent study has revealed that a regular cut in calorie can cure the diabetic type-2. Type-2 Diabetes is a metabolic alignment that mostly occurs in adults after failing the pancreases to produce adequate level of insulin hormones. It is a non-insulin dependent disease unlike type-1 diabetes.
The diabetes type-2 disease can be managed if proper diet and regular exercise is done. If we take low calorie diet daily for four month, it can cure the diabetes type-2 and also reduce the chances of cardiac diseases. This fact has once again proved in a recent research, according to published news in daily express.
"It is striking to see how a relatively simple intervention of a very low-calorie diet effectively cures Type-2 diabetes," Dr Sebastiaan Hammer has been quoted saying in a report of Daily Express.
"Our results show that 16 weeks of caloric restriction improved heart function in these patients."
"More importantly, despite regain of weight, these beneficial cardiovascular effects were persistent over the long term."
"Lifestyle interventions may have more powerful beneficial cardiac effects than medication in these patients," said Hammer.
The study was conducted on 15 patients-seven men and eight women-with Type-2 diabetes and they were kept on a diet consisting of 500 calories a day. While making a conclusion scans, heart functions and pericardial fat were also taken into consideration.
In this process, body mass index (BMI) were also considered. It has been found that reduced calorie intake brought down BMI from 35.3 to 27.5 over a period of four months. Decreased pericardial fat and resting heart functions have also improved significantly.
These research findings can be of great significance as diabetics and the obese are more prone to get cardiac disease.
