Washington, Oct 27 (ANI): Two American parents, who named their kids "Adolf Hitler" and "Aryan Nation," lost custody of their three children, for naming them after the most hated man in history.
According to MyFoxPhilly, the couple, Heath and Deborah Campbell said that New Jersey appeals court found no evidence of abuse, and the children had been taken away without a cause.
"Actually, the judge and DYFS told us that there was no evidence of abuse and that it was the names. They were taken over the children's names," Fox News quoted the father as telling NBC 10.
The appeals court ruled last year that sufficient evidence of abuse or neglect existed because of domestic violence in the home, and took the children from their parents.
The pair then picketed the child services office in Flemington, NJ, saying that the state has no right to keep their children away from them now as the court allegedly ruled that the kids were taken away without cause.
The case originated after the local shop refused to decorate a birthday cake for the 3-year-old son named Adolf Hitler Campbell, and reported the incident.
"It's not like he's growing up to be a killer or nothing like that," Fox News quoted Deborah Campbell as saying.
"I went to just to get a cake... it was a circus of racism," Heath said.
Although both parents acknowledge the hatred people relate to behind their children's names, they say that it was not their intention.
"This is America, they say it's free, you have the right to name your child whatever you want to name your child, no matter what," the father added.
A judge will decide by early December whether the kids are to be returned to their parents. (ANI)
