Rajkot, Oct 19 (ANI): The demand for made in China firecrackers has led to brisk business for the shopkeepers and wholesalers during this year's Diwali season.
The usual sale of firecrackers registered a business of rupees 300 million in the city during the festival every year but shopkeepers, this year, expect to make good profits as there has been a sharp rise the demand of Chinese crackers.
Children are also lining up the shops to purchase Chinese crackers due to their unique shapes and lights.
"I have bought crackers from here, I have also bought gun, rocket and Chinese crackers. Though Diwali is yet to come, I am buying crackers in advance. They're a good variety of crackers available here. The crackers made in China are also very good and new varieties have come," said Nishith, a child buying Chinese crackers.
Crackers made in China are giving a fierce competition to Indian firecracker makers as workers in India are racing against time to compete and survive in the fireworks' market.
According to a wholesaler, 151 new varieties of Chinese crackers including rockets, musical crackers, sparklers, shots and spinning firework have arrived in the market.
Shopkeepers claim that Chinese fireworks have occupied a larger share in the firecrackers' market this year.
"There is a high demand for Chinese crackers in the market, and there has been a rise of 20-30 percent in the margin in these crackers. The new crackers from China include guns, musical crackers and are in high demand. People ask for a lot for crackers from China and they are more popular than normal crackers," said Raj Kishor, a wholesaler. (ANI)
