New Delhi, Sep 30(ANI): The Military Nursing Service (MNS) will celebrate its 86th Raising Day tomorrow.
"MNS has played a very significant role as a versatile and unique health care provider of the Army. They have truly lived up to their motto 'Service with a Smile'," a Ministry of Defence statement said.
The MNS personnel undergo a general nursing and midwifery course at the Schools of Nursing at Delhi, Lucknow and Chandigarh.
The officers further undergo a post-graduate nursing programme at the College of Nursing at Pune.
The mission of the MNS is "Excellence in patient care both in War and Peace", which they pursue with utmost zeal.
The MNS has played a vital role in peace keeping operations at Congo, Sudan, Lebanon and Sierra Leone where their services have been appreciated by one and all.
In addition to their professional activities, MNS officers have actively participated in mountaineering expeditions and shooting competitions where they have won awards at national and international levels. (ANI)
