Bangkok, Sep 27(ANI): One of the two Thai men facing extradition to Melbourne over the murder of a Australian man have told Bangkok's Ratchada Criminal Court that he doesn't want the charge against him heard in 'racist' Victoria.
Sarud Seehaverachart claims that he would not get a fair hearing in Melbourne, and he would be held in a substandard prison.
He also said that he had been the target of racist bullying in Melbourne, the Age reports.
When asked by his lawyer how he reacted to the bullying, the 28-year-old said: "I kept a low profile."
Seehaverachart and Thatiya Terdputham are fighting extradition for the murder of Luke Mitchell, who was fatally stabbed in a fight outside a Brunswick nightclub on May 24, 2009.
The two accused were studying in Melbourne at the time.
Both accused also claim that a third Thai man who is still at large is to blame for Mitchell's death.
They have previously said that Mitchell was drunk and the stabbing was in self-defence. (ANI)
