'Tendulkar, Dravid weren't exactly match winners,' says Akhtar

Islamabad , Fri, 23 Sep 2011 ANI

Islamabad, Sep 23(ANI): Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has said in his autobiography that Indian batting legends Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid are not match winners.

In his just-published biography "Controversially Yours", Shoaib said: "I think players like Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid weren't exactly match winners to start with, nor did they know the art of finishing the game."

The 36-year-old also claims that Tendulkar had "chickened" out of the 2006 Faisalabad Test because he was unwilling to face his pace.

"I bowled a particularly fast ball which he, to my amazement didn't even touch. He walked away!" the Nation quoted Akhtar, as saying.

"That was the first time I saw him walk away from me - that, too, on the slow track at Faisalabad," he added.

He also alleged that he was cheated by Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shahrukh Khan and former Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman Lalit Modi.

"Shahrukh and I talked about my not being happy with the money settled on me. Shahrukh and Modi got me to agree. I should have never listened to Modi and Shahrukh," he said. (ANI)
