Washington, Sept 22(ANI): A new poll has shown that nearly three quarters of Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents do not want former Arkansas Governor Sarah Palin to run for the 2012 US presidential election.
A McClatchy-Marist poll has said 72 percent of respondents said they did not want Palin to enter the presidential race and that only 24 percent said they hoped she would run for the election.
About 13 percent of GOP primary voters supported her candidature for the post, Politico reports.
A Pew poll had earlier found that 41 percent of respondents would not consider voting for Palin in a presidential election.
The Marist poll also showed that 58 percent of respondents did not want Texas Governor Rudy Giuliani to run for the presidential election as compared to 32 percent who were opposed to the view, and 14 percent would back him for the post. (ANI)
