Islamabad, Sept 10(ANI): Pakistan must stop meddling of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, a foreigner, in the country's affairs, Awami National Party (ANP) Central Vice President Bushra Gohar has said.
In an exclusive chat with Online- International News Network, Gohar said that Altaf had cancelled his citizenship of Pakistan and was a resident as well as citizen of the United Kingdom, therefore, had no right to spread disturbance and provocation in the country.
"I call upon the Pakistan Foreign Office to take up the issue with his country, that is the UK. What [the] British would feel if a Pakistani does so and irritates people in the UK. This is a very serious issue when a foreigner does this," she added.
In a videoconference address to workers and media, Altaf had blamed that the United States had paid millions of dollars to the ANP for winning the 2008 elections. He said that he had no proof, but had heard that the ANP was funded.
Gohar said that while Altaf advises people not to believe in hearsay, he himself blames someone based on hearsay, as he himself has confessed.
"When it is said that there is a foreign influence and interference in Pakistan, it is in this way that such influence is exercised by a foreigner," she stated.
Gohar challenged that anyone who claims that ANP was funded by a foreign country, should adopt a legal procedure by filing a complaint with the Election Commission of Pakistan. (ANI)
