Paris, Aug 31 (ANI): Former French prime minister Michel Rocard has described former International Monetary Fund chief and a frontrunner for the socialist presidential nomination, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, as 'mentally ill'.
Eighty one-year-old Rocard said during a television interview that it was 'clearly medical problems' that drove Strauss-Kahn to become embroiled in repeated sex scandals.
"This man quite obviously has a mental illness that makes it difficult for him to control his urges," the Telegraph quoted Rocard, as saying.
"It's a shame, because he is very talented. But I no longer have any faith in his abilities," he added.
Strauss Kahn, 63, was recently freed from charges of raping a New York hotel maid.
He also faces charges for the attempted rape of young French writer Tristane Banon in 2003. (ANI)
