Washington, Aug 28 (ANI): Jim Sturgess has revealed that he decided to become an actor after realising his life "wasn't great" when he was happy over a small promotion in the restaurant where he worked.
According to BANG Showbiz, the 30-year-old actor starring alongside Anne Hathaway in 'One day' took up a series of jobs before becoming famous, but a move to Manchester, North West Englian, gave a new direction to his life.
"Before I sort of got anywhere near acting I worked in a restaurant. I was a pot wash boy. Just like Emma in the story I got promoted to salad boy and I was really, really excited about that," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
"Then I stepped back and thought, 'My life can't be that great if I'm that excited about being promoted to salad boy'.
"It was a knock, it made me think I need to do something else with my life. So I moved up to Manchester and joined a course there which really changed my life," he added. (ANI)
