Gandhinagar, Aug 12 (ANI): Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rajnish Rai, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, has named Chief Minister Narendra Modi's close aide and former Director General of Police (DGP) PC Pande as a conspirator in the Tulsi Prajapati fake encounter case.
Rajnish Rai has filed a rejoinder with the Central Administrative Tribunal alleging that he was victimised by his senior officers since he had carried out an unbiased probe in the Sohrabuddin case.
Rai, who has named his then senior officers P C Pande and O P Mathur, has in his rejoinder alleged that they had directed him not to record investigation details in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati encounter.
He has also accused Pande of attempting to delink the Sohrabuddin and the Tulsi Prajapati case since facts were uncomfortable for the government.
Rai has accused Pande of snatching the investigation into the Sohrabuddin encounter from him and entrusting it to Geetha Johri only to derail the probe. He further alleged that Pande hid the truth from the Supreme Court by deleting facts from the draft Action Taken Reports.
While Sohrabuddin was killed in a fake encounter on November 26, 2005 and his wife Kausar Bi was eliminated a few days later, Prajapati was killed in December 2006 in Gujarat's Banaskantha District.
The latest disclosures by DIG Rai comes after two other IPS officials Rahul Sharma and Sanjiv Bhatt took on the Gujarat Government in connection with the 2002 Godhra riots. (ANI)
