Dobijan (J-K), Aug 8 (ANI): Tourists visiting Jammu and Kashmir want better facilities such as roads, huts and parking facilities.

Bashir Ahmad, a tourist in Dobijan area in Shopian district complained that the picturesque place is sternly hit due to the lack of basic infrastructure in the region.

"No shed has been made by the government and I request the government to provide sheds and huts, so that people can live here and rest. Government has made many sheds at various places but has not given importance to this place. It is a very beautiful place and tourists get elated after visiting this picturesque place," said Ahmad.

Another tourist Mushtaq Ahmad echoed similar sentiments.

"Many tourists come here but government is not thinking to provide facilities in this place. Here, the roads and parking facilities are improper. People love to see and enjoy the spot but government has done nothing till now. That's why tourists are facing lot of problems," said Ahmad.

Attaullah Simnani, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian district said the tourism department can only intervene and proceed with their work if forest department gives NOC.

"Last time we proposed to develop some parks and sports and our senior official also proposed it in a board meeting, but the whole case was given to tourism department and asked them to work on it for tourists as the place is exceedingly beautiful. Now the tourism department has taken up the issue with the forest department because the area comes under forest department. And the tourism department can only intervene and proceed their work if forest department gives no objection certificate (NOC)," said Simnani.
