Lahore, July 14 (ANI): Pakistan Tehrik- e- Insaaf (PTI) City President Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has opposed the revival of commissionerate system and local government system in place during Musharraf's regime and said local bodies' polls should be held instead after amending the 2001 Local Government Act.
He said Pakistan's provincial governments were disobeying the constitutional compulsions by not holding the local bodies' polls.
He added that sanitation, primary education and health should be the priority subjects of the local governments, The Nation reports.
Ruling out the possibilities of joining the grand alliance, he said the PTI would prefer to work with All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) parties excluding Pakistan Muslim League-N.
He said the PTI would prefer seat-adjustment, however he did not rule out the possibility of an electoral alliance with the likeminded forces.
PTI had formed committees to interact with the religious and political forces, he added.
He said the party would hold a public moot in Lahore after Ramzan-ul-Mubarik, while another moot would be held in Islamabad. (ANI)
