Dhaka, July 8 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S.M Krishna on Friday unveiled the plaque at the Department of Theatre and Music of Dhaka University.
This wing of the university named Kala Bhavan has been set up with Indian assistance.
Addressing the gathering here, Krishna assured India's commitment to forge strong and enduring ties with the people and government of Bangladesh.
Sharing commonality of language, culture exchange from an important bond of friendship, special emphasis has been laid on promotion of exchanges in the fields of music, theatre, art, painting, and books among others.
Krishna, who was on two-day visit to Dhaka, discussed several issues with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ranging from militancy, mechanism on water-sharing of the River Teesta, boundary disputes and inadvertent crossings to trade imbalance including projects chosen for the credit line that India announced for Bangladesh and others.
Bangladesh and India have 54 common rivers but an agreement exists only to share water resources from the River Ganges, which is known as River Padma in Bangladesh. (ANI)
