Rooney can be Man U's Messi, says Scholes

London, July 5 (ANI): Former Manchester United defender Paul Scholes believes that strikerWayne Rooney can be the club's answer to Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

"Wayne can still go up several notches for sure. We've not seen the best of him yet. There can still be an improvement in every aspect of his game and I think we'll see it. He's capable of being the same for us as Messi is for Barcelona. He can be United's Messi, that's how good he is," The Mirror quoted Scholes, as saying.

"He went through a barren spell last season but came through it towards the end. Maybe that's another area for improvement.When his head's right and he's right physically, he can do real damage to teams. Don't forget, he's still young and has not reached his peak yet. "There's more to come from him, as he gets stronger and older, and hopefully we'lll see the very best of him in the next two or three years," he added. (ANI)
