Shirdi (Maharashtra), June 29 (ANI): The ISO certified Prasadalaya at Shirdi, which is managed by the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust has promoted a practice of providing free meals to devotees on occasions such as the memory of an elder or the birthday of children.
The Sansthan trust has started a scheme of charging a day's full charge of the Prasadalaya Bhojan and started giving the food to all devotees.
Under this scheme, Rs.3 lakh is taken for a day during a particular festival such as Ramnavami, Gurupoornima and Punyatithi.
Meals are provided as per the wish of the donor devotee.
Devotees who visit Shirdi also take away Ladoo after the darshan. Prepared with pure ghee and a mixture of sweets, cashew nuts and bundi, nearly 60,000 Ladoos are sold per day.
The Sansthan requires 25 quintals of sugar daily to prepare the Ladoos and these sold between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
In a year, Rs.4 crore worth of Ladoos is sold through the Prasadalaya. (ANI)
