New York, June 28 (ANI): A US facialist, who tended to celebrities, has been sentenced to nine months home detention for a credit card scam that involved misusing of her A-list clients' money.
Chez Gabriela Studio owner Maria Gabriela Hashemipour, 52, who was also sentenced to five years of probation by a federal judge, had A-list stars like Jennifer Aniston, Liv Tyler, Anne Hathaway and Cher as her clients.
"I'm extremely sorry for what I have done," the New York Daily News quoted her as telling the judge.
Hashemipour, a skin specialist to the stars, pleaded guilty to access device fraud in January in a case involving some 300,000 dollars in fraudulent charges.
Authorities busted her in August after Tyler's management company discovered 214,000 dollars in bogus charges allegedly made by the salon to the actress' two American Express credit cards between June and November 2009.
Hashemipour also ran up 68,000 dollars in unauthorized charges on a card that belonged to high-end jewellery designer Loree Rodkin, according to an affidavit in the case.
She must also pay restitution to her alleged victims, and the judge has set a hearing for October 17 to determine the sums. (ANI)
