Saana, June 28 (ANI): Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who is being treated in Saudi Arabia for wounds he sustained after his Presidential Palace was attacked earlier this month, is in "good health and at the presence of strong intellect," his political advisor has said.
"I discussed several national issues with the president and he gave me the necessary directives," Xinhua quoted Abdul Karim al-Eryani as saying, after allegedly meeting with Saleh in Riyadh.
Government officials said Sunday that Saleh would address the nation within 48 hours.
Yemeni government officials have been repeatedly claiming from the past few weeks that Saleh had suffered minor injuries ?n the attack, and that he is in good health and will make a return to his country soon.
"The president is currently recuperating in the military hospital in the Saudi capital of Riyadh and his health condition is stable and good," a senior official of the ruling party had said.
The opposition spokesman, however, raised his doubts saying that the injuries would make him unable to run the country. (ANI)
