Lucknow, June 23 (ANI): Five jail personnel of Lucknow district jail were suspended today in connection with the mysterious death of jailed Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. YS Sachan, the prime accused in the murder of two Chief Medical Officers of Lucknow.
Sachan, who was serving a jail term for the murder of Chief Medical Officer (Family Welfare) B P Singh, was found dead in the Lucknow district Jail Hospital's toilet on Wednesday evening. His body was found hanging in the bathroom with a belt around his neck.
UP police declared it to be a case of suicide.
Sachan was arrested in April this year following the murder of BP Singh for his alleged involvement in the irregularities in the implementation of National Rural Health Mission.
The STF had on June 17 arrested three persons - Ram Krishna Verma, Anand Tewari and Vinod Sharma - who had confessed to the crime and named Sachan as the main conspirator.
Sachan's name was also being linked to the murder of another CMO (Family Welfare) Vinod Kumar Arya, who was shot dead in October last year. (ANI)
