Hyderabad, June 12(ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Sunday slammed the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre over increasing corruption in the country.
Addressing a news conference in Hyderabad, Rudy said that the UPA government was trying to 'communalise' the issue of corruption to divert the attention of the people in the country.
"The voice against corruption needs to be heard. When the country and the governments crush issues of corruption, black money and crime, such forces get emboldened. Such forces get encouraged when the government's attitude gets reflected. Let's say Maharashtra or for that matter in Delhi, it unleashes a sense of uneasiness among the people," Rudy said.
"We are concerned about the safety and the security of the people. Media is the fourth pillar of democracy and has always stood by the crusade against corruption," he added.
Series of graft scams including 19th Commonwealth Games, Adarsh Housing Society, and multi-billion dollar telecom scam have tainted UPA government. (ANI)
