Ahmedabad, June 11(ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday criticized the Congress party-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government over a series of graft scams.
Addressing the media in Ahmedabad, BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the Centre lacks transparency and has not been taking any initiative to bring back the black money stashed in foreign banks.
Prasad added that the scandals have erupted due to negligence of the government, and called the UPA, led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the 'most corrupt' government since the country's independence.
"It is increasingly becoming evident that the government of Manmohan Singh is the most corrupt government since independence. It's not only that the BJP is saying this. Now, the media has also started calling the government corrupt. The reason is very evident. Nobody knows when a new scandal will come up. Scam after scam, scandal after scandal has become a defining feature of the Congress," Prasad said.
Scams like the 19th Commonwealth Games, the Adarsh Housing Society, and the multi-billion dollar telecom scam has left the ruling Congress party caught on the wrong foot. (ANI)
