London, Jun 10 (ANI): US right-wingers are enraged at claims that Baroness Margaret Thatcher's aides vetoed a meeting with Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin was hoping to meet Britain's first and only female Prime Minister Thatcher in London next month, but Thatcher's aides have refused Palin's idea calling her 'nuts' and an 'embarrassment' to mainstream Tories.
Palin, who is known to be a great admirer of Thatcher, was desperate to meet her as part of her potential campaign for Republican presidential candidate, The Telegraph reports.
Rush Limbaugh, the talk show host, denounced the suggestion that the former Prime Minister might take a dim view of Palin as "preposterous".
Other supporters of the likely presidential candidate complained online that Lady Thatcher's aides had "disgraced" her.
Palin, the darling of the right wing Tea Party, has described Margaret Thatcher as one of her "political heroines" and repeatedly expressed her desire for a meeting.
She disclosed recently that she is planning to stop off in London on her way to Sudan later this summer and said she hoped to arrange an interview. (ANI)
