Madurai, May 23(ANI): Ardent fans of Tamil superstar Rajnikanth firewalked on Monday and prayed for his speedy recovery in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
Twenty people from Rajnikanth's fan association participated in the event.
"We have conducted a special thing, 25 people from our Rajni fans association have walked in the fire," said Chozha Raja, president of the fan club.
For over a week now, fans from across India have converged outside Chennai's Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC) to pray for the ailing superstar recuperating there.
The 60-year-old actor was admitted to the hospital on May 13 for a recurrent respiratory infection and gastrointestinal problems.
Doctors say he is responding well to treatment.
Rajnikanth, who suffered from viral fever and exhaustion recently, was admitted to SRMC after he was discharged from another hospital, where he had been treated for allergic bronchitis and viral fever.
He had suffered from exhaustion on April 29, the first day of the shoot of his new period film 'Rana', co-starring Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. (ANI)
