Chennai, May 22(ANI): Fans of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, who has been hospitalized for over a week now, gathered outside Chennai's Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC) and prayed for his speedy recovery on Sunday.
"I pray to God that he recovers soon and his next film 'Rana' would hit the theaters soon and entertain his fan. I wish him all the best," said Sanjay Naik, a fan dressed like Rajnikanth.
Fans said they were worried about the actor's health after they heard news reports of his deteriorating health, but were assured of his well being when they met Rajnikanth's daughter.
"We also had a puja (prayer session) for Rajnikanth. We are being making pujas for Rajnikanth. We were given the permission to talk to his daughter. So, it was good. I think we are now feeling better and we hope for a speedy recovery for Rajnikanth and may God bless him. We are all with him and we'll do anything for him," said Yogi another fan.
Rajinikanth, who was admitted to the hospital on May 13 for recurrent respiratory infection and gastrointestinal problems, was on Wednesday shifted to the Intensive Care Unit.
Doctors said that he was responding well to treatment.he 60-year-old actor, who suffered from viral fever and exhaustion recently, was admitted to SRMU days after he was discharged from another hospital where he had been treated for allergic bronchitis and viral fever.
He had suffered from exhaustion on April 29, the first day of the shoot of his new period film "Rana" co-starring Deepika Padukone. (ANI)
