Jakarta, May 7(ANI): Indonesian aviation authorities on Saturday said that all the passengers on board the Merpati Nusantara Airlines MA-60 aircraft, which crashed in the country's West Papua province, have been killed.
The plane, carrying 21 passengers and six crewmembers, was travelling from the coastal city of Sorong to the small port town of Kaimana.
According to Indonesian media, it crashed into the ocean shortly before it was due to land at the airport.
Poor weather is being blamed for the tragedy.
"I can confirm that all the passengers were killed when the plane exploded as it crashed into the sea," an official said.
"The aircraft was smashed to pieces. We found 15 bodies floating on the water and the other passengers are trapped inside the wreckage," he added. (ANI)
