Tokyo, Apr 23 (ANI): The Fukushima 50 emergency nuclear plant workers trying to control the situation in the earthquake-cum-tsunami hit plant in Japan, have reportedly accused the government of inconsistent handling of data in relation to radiation exposure.
The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant workers have said that they have been risking their health, while attempting to regain control over the facility that was severely damaged by the March 11 tsunami.
There are reports that some workers were not being required to register their radiation exposure, which they feared could create future issues if health problems arose, The Telegraph reports.
"In the end, we are the workers who are exposed," an emergency worker, said.
The paper quoted another nuclear industry source as saying that: "If the radiation data is handled vaguely, workers may not be able to have proof of their exposure to radiation if they need to fight court battles."
Earlier, Fukushima Governor Yuhei Sato had said Tokyo Electric Power Corporation (TEPCO) would never be allowed to resume its operations at the Fukushima plant.
"A resumption of plant operations must be impossible," Sato had told Masataka Shimizu, president of Tokyo Electric, known as TEPCO, who apologized for the nuclear emergency during their meeting at the prefectural government office.
Following the 15-minute meeting, Shimizu had also said that he would step down at an appropriate time to take responsibility for the disaster. (ANI)
